Wow. Absolutely heartbreaking, yet excellent advice. I have a classmate, a surgeon, who died at 40 from a sarcoma. Nicest guy ever, too.

Thanks for sharing, never would have seen it.

Everyone should read his blog: http://crushmycancer.blogspot.com/

Puts things in perspective.

Having spent the past several days in communication with the family of a dear old friend of mine who sadly died yesterday after falling into coma a week earlier after a cerebral hypoglycemia event, don't take anything for granted. He was the picture of health even for a non-diabetic and someone who truly owned his disease, ran 6 miles daily, maintained his weight and diet. He left a wife and two children, and it is truly sad.

That is pretty humbling.

On another note, does this link hold any credence? http://hubpages.com/hub/Scientists_cure_cancer__but_no_one_takes_notice

I keep seeing it thrown around on facebook and other sites.

I havent heard of this drug, nor the details of how it works, nor the politics of why it's "being ignored" but I can tell you that killing cancer in vitro is very easy and drugs that kill cancer in mice are a dime a dozen. Very, very few will make it through phase I. Every cancer center in the country has dozens of drugs that work in animals; the bridge to humans is the hard part.
