24 hrs - 8 hrs of sleep = 16 hours left

16 hrs - 2 hrs of commuting = 14 hours left

Anyway, I don't think the long hours would affect how I will perform in school... but would it effect my participation in the EC?

Also, for those attending the UF Orlando campus, is there ever anything going on in campus like groups/clubs etc. that perhaps can make your resume look more diverse?

An hour is ok to commute. I used to live an hour away from my college. Gave me a reason to skip classes 😛

14 - 10 hours of rotation = 4 hours left

4 -1 hour gym = 3 hours left

Groceries, meals, laundry, email, etc tie up the rest. Good thing I don't have to take any work home with me.

It's "would it AFFECT", not "would it effect"

Now the OP's problems are solved! Thanks for that.

Anyways, why are you living so far away from campus? Living rent free at home? Would it be worth it to find something cheap closer to school? The cost in rent will probably help offset the cost spent in gas. Plus more of your classmates probably live closer, so you're probably missing out on impromptu study groups or get togethers.

And I can guarantee with living that far away, you aren't going to get 8 hours of sleep unless it's the weekend. Between studying and having to get up early to drive there, you'll be lucky to get 6. It's a weak excuse to be late to class because of traffic. And then what about severe weather conditions? Would you rather miss a day of class because you didn't want to drive there or would you spend 2 hours driving there only to miss some classes and get lectured by your professor about how you need to be more prepared?

My 2 cents: Living an hour away is definitely doable, but it's not the easiest nor most practical option.

what D:

An hour away isn't a bad commute at all.
