Taking a math before Calculus...adverse affects?

Will taking a math before I take Calculus look bad when I ultimately apply? I took a math placement course and qualified to be placed in Calc, but I haven't had math all this year (senior year in high school) and feel like I need a review course. Is this the smartest choice?

This question is weird to me. Why should they care where you started if at the end you got to where you needed to be? If this is such a worry, sign up as an auditing student.

I doubt they will care. It should show that you're smart enough to prepare for something before you attempt it...
