Hello folks.

A few of the schools I'm applying to require anatomy and physiology as well as biochemistry before matriculation. I'm planning to take them this school year. Does anyone know if it's okay to take them pass/fail? Would it depend on the school, or is there some sort of overarching rule (formal or informal)?

ETA: cGPA = sGPA = 3.99, oGPA = 4.0. Only other P/F classes were music ensemble "courses," all of which were required to be P/F except one semester of one ensemble that was graded by default.

Thanks!

Taking upper division science classes P/F to protect your GPA does not bode well with admissions committees.

I know, though I'm applying this cycle (and applied early), so they might not even see it until after a decision has been reached. I don't know if a decision would be revoked if it turned out that a grade was necessary, or what.

Of course, by the same logic, they *also* might not see a potential B until after a decision...

just take it for a grade. You might need to reapply next cycle and P/F would not look well

If you're applying already, why would you need to do P/F? You already have your GPA. It's not going to change on the AMCAS at this point.

Well, I am leaning strongly toward taking it for a grade, but I wanted to have kind of a lower-stress year right before med school so I'm not completely burned out by the time I get there. If I can't have a lower-stress year, it's not the end of the world.
