Hi everyone,

The last of my pre-requisites that I need is a Biology Lab course (which is ridiculously hard to get into at my university). I plan on applying this June, but I probably won't be able to take this course until the summer.

I was wondering if I can still apply in June (without having this prerequisite complete) and whether or not this will put me at a disadvantage.

Thank you so much for your time! 🙂 I really appreciate it.

Yes.

Most schools will wait for your grade to make a decision about your app. This will delay you, it is not the first time in the world someone has done this.

Wrong. I applied and got into several programs without taking ANY Biology courses. I'm taking them now that I got into the programs but it never was an issue in my application or in interviews.

:troll:

OP, you are probably fine to not take it. However, you will not get in to several programs if you don't take any bio. I promise.

I did, they were all dependent upon me taking the prereq bio courses before I matriculate.

Bumping old threads, telling fantastic admission lies, I fail to understand your motivation for doing these things.

I knew I should've typed inb4 GotMyHairDid ban.. KNEW IT.

Don't know why, but my spidey senses told me to avoid that thread. Thank God.

Getting back on topic. I got into MSUCOM without taking one of the prereqs and they accepted me but required I take the course before I enter class this summer.

In short, try to take all the prereqs before you apply, but I don't think any school will reject you off the bat for missing one or two (at least it never happened to me).

Good Luck!!!

I applied this cycle and at the time of application, I had 4 pre-req courses still to do. I am still finishing, but haven't had a problem getting interviews. It hasn't even been brought up once. I say go for it if the rest of your app is strong.

Some schools won't look at your app, so make sure to check with them before applying.

I applied this cycle as well, and got a few interviews (no acceptances this far) with 2 pre-reqs still left. The stipulation is simply that you complete the courses prior to matriculation and send an updated transcript.
