Taking braces off early

Hi Dental Forum,

I have been wearing braces for some time now and want them off. My orthodontist says all I have left is the fine tuning/finishing wire, which needs to be in place for a few months. I want them off now ( I have graduation coming up, plus I just hate them). Any thoughts on taking them off right before the final wire?

Don't know if this is an appropriate question for these forums, but I could use some input from dental people.

ask her if a tooth positioner would benefit you given your situation.

SDN is not the place to get dental advice. your ortho may have a way to address your concerns (ie having no braces on graduation), so they would be the best person to ask! closing thread.
