Hey SDN,

I was wondering what it would look like taking a class P/F my senior year. I've already been accepted somewhere and am required to get C or higher in all my classes. My concern is with schools that I haven't heard back from/are waitlisted at. I will send them my grades in December and am concerned that if they see a subpar GPA or W, they won't be inclined to offer an II or acceptance. In one of my classes, I got a C on the first test and just took another bad test this week. The deadline to do P/F or take a W is next week and I would assume getting a P looks better than a C or W. Would I be asked to explain a Pass? Thanks

Does it matter? Sounds like your options are P or W, and you already know P>W, so your course of action is set.

It won't affect your acceptance, so no worries there. Odds are none of your grade updates will affect your chances at the other schools. This is a nonissue.

Thanks! I guess my other option could be to try to get to B if I did okay on this test and can kill the final. Would a B look better than a P?

I think you know the answer to that one too...the real question is, how real is the risk that you pull a C (or god forbid, a D) if you go for it, and how much do you want to enjoy your senior year, given that your future is guaranteed to include an MD and the P will likely have no real impact?
