If I take a few classes in Kinesiology, such as excercise Physiology, would or Anatomical kinesiology, would that look good when applying to D.O schools?

I loved structural kinesiology and ended up teaching it at a small school for a year. I believe that if you take that class and exercise physiology you would have a stronger background on muscle orientation and action than some one who has only taken the A&P's. As far as would it look good. I couldn't tell you that. I have found that many people don't understand what those classes are about. But in one of my interviews some how we started talking about muscle imbalances and I gave them examples and was able to name those obscure muscles that are not thought of that much and it really impressed them. IN my opinion; would it hurt no! Will it help probably. I hope this helped. But just make sure you get a good back ground in your basic sciences as well.

hey, i majored in kinesiology, and yeah, most people don't know what it's about (and, at our school, how hard they make it). i think it's a whole lot more pertinent than just being a bio major, as it gives you a whole new look on prevention (a DO pillar), orthopedic medicine, and physiology. in short, it's more applicable than just biology, and more science based than people who didn't major in sciences at all (i.e. lit majors). tell them that, i'm sure they'd understand (or maybe not)...
