Hi all, I'd love to hear your advice as fellow post-bacc students! I'm planning on taking Organic Chemistry and Biology together this coming fall at the Harvard Extension School. I heard from peers and the post bacc program alumni that those two courses are very rigorous. In general though, what is your advice on taking orgo and bio together at the same time, if anyone has done that? If so, how much time would you say you'd put in for each class per week?

Thanks for your thoughts in advance! Hope everyone stays well and safe!

Hi, I took those two at the same time, though it wasn't with HES. I worked 40 hours a week and had evening classes from Monday through Thursday. Friday night was spent doing pre-lab/lab reports for orgo on Saturday mornings. Sundays were spent leisurely making cards on anki and working extra credit problems for orgo. I was able to make an A in bio and an A- in orgo. What really helped was using anki for general memorization for bio and for the mechanisms in orgo. As long as I had the cards made, I could really relax and study during lunch at work or if I had some down time. Also, definitely work on as much problems as you can for orgo. I'm not sure how much hours I put into those courses but I can say that I had about 4-6 hours a week to comfortably dedicate time for errands, exercise, hobbies, relaxing.
