Nah, all that garbage about prerequisite coursework is just the colleges trying to squeeze money out of you. Personally, I think you should be able to apply to dental school upon successful completion of 4th-grade science.

Exactly. Taking the classes in college and dental school just helps reenforce everything. Or, in my case, helps you learn what you skipped in college.

You don't really need much more than a basic cell biology class like your freshman biology, but the more you know before you start the less you have to cram in dental school. I don't think the basic science guys really teach in dental school (not at mine anyway). They just get up there clicking the power points. My undergrad professors really taught. In undergrad, you actually have time to absorb it and learn it, but in dental school it's cycles of cram/purge.

Greeeeat. This is what I've heard about dental schools as well. Don't know about it myself since I'll be starting in September.

I took micro, biochem, and physio. I'm sooo wishing I would have taken anatomy though. It would have been my time here much easier. You can tell us apart those who took anatomy vs. those who didn't take it. It's a struggle, but it's definitely doable.
We haven't covered metabolism and micro yet, so I'm hoping having the biochem and micro background will help.
