I want to be a hospitalist for a few years and then transition into private practice primary care outpatient medicine. I have no desire to seek a fellowship. When interviewing at a university hospital, will this make me seem less desirable for the program vs someone who wants to seek a fellowship? Thanks

Nah I doubt it. I actually think it's probably worse to be too fixated on a subspecialty in your interviews.

Can an attending or fellow comment on this? I've definitely heard whisperings that some of the "best" NE programs discourage their residents from not pursuing fellowship. I know, it was just rumor, but I can't help but worry my mid-tiers will have the same attitude!
