like most of you guys, i ditched kaplan's qbank early on and hopped aboard the usmleworld train.

but for those of you who have used both question sources, would you recommend any particular subjects in kaplan's qbank that are actually helpful and/or cover any areas that usmleworld might be weak/deficient in?

thanks!

There are definitely a few subject where you could use Kaplan's QBank as a nice supplement. If you're looking for harder anatomy questions, for example, I thought that Kaplan's were more challenging than UW's. I also believe that Kaplan's micro questions were really good in general (except for all those rat-bite fever and HACEK questions), and that the biochem questions tested your fundamentals well, and weren't too zebra-ish. Kaplan's also a good supplement if you're looking to work on your embryo and histo, as well as your skin diseases.

That said, I'm still a huge UW fan.

I didn't use UW (although I wish I had given how much better it seems than Kaplan) and can't compare it to Kaplan directly, but I did like Kaplan's behavioral science qs. In contrast to the above poster, IMO Qbank's anatomy questions are not worth doing as they were difficult but not in a boards-relevant way.

would u include the neuroanatomy in this category?

i was thinking about doing them just to get used to the images

I also thought the neuroanatomy questions were fair.

On the other hand, the musculoskeletal anatomy questions were a bit unfair at times, and harder than those on UW in general. Therefore, if you want more challenging anatomy questions (at least for musculoskeletal antomy), then give QBank a look. However, I doubt that you'll miss out on much if you pass on it.
