Anyone want to throw out a number or guestimate in regards to the value of the TC for 36000 surgicals? I've heard numbers thrown around that you need at least 7000 to break even...this is a genral mix of larger specimens and smaller biopsies.

Dude with 36000 surgicals you are looking at around $1.2 M in TC only revenue at PAR with 88305-TC, which is currently at around $32. Your total all inclusive cost (consummables, tech salaries etc.) for this volume range will be between $10-$18 per specimen, depending on geography, so you are looking at around $600K in black. If you add special stains and IHC your profit could be higher. Of course, there are other charges like billing, courier etc but overall 36000 specimens can comfortably generate profits from TC.

It is impossible to give a value to the TC. It varies too much in different areas. Don't forget client billing, which is legal in many states. We had labs, engaged in client billing schemes, doing skins for less than 10 bucks on the 88305 TC it was so competitive.
