Would I list being a TA as a form of EMPLOYMENT on the application? I wouldn't know any other way to list it besides that. If you were a TA, how did you list it in your application?

yes, it's a form of employment considering you worked under someone and received a stipend.

Academic credit does blur the line somewhat because your involvement as being a TA factors into your "coursework" and doesn't stand as exactly something you do in addition to your studies (as it is then a part of them). However, if your teacher created an arrangement in which you were granted academic credit in exchange for the work (due to lack of department funds) then I think you would be alright listing it as employment.
