So I'm thinking about teaching for TPR (just one MCAT class) for a few extra bucks and plus, because I enjoy teaching a lot.

I'm in my first year of med school, and wondering what your thoughts are on this.

Plus, I heard that as an instructor you get access to their USMLE materials... what do you guys think?

Let me clarify, actually. I know A LOT of people do it, I'm just wondering if you think it's worth the time, effort, and energy.

That sounds like a good idea. However, do you have to learn anything differently due to the change in MCAT format? I taught for TPR for about a year and a half but quit before they started doing the CBT format. I was wondering about that...

Hey there
I teach for princeton although I am an MS0 (Starting in August🙂 Anyways, I will say that at first it is a LOT of work (coming up with the lessons, reviewing material again, etc) but after the first class it's easy. I love my students and it is good review. PM me if you have any questions. I am not sure if I will teach in the fall, though this summer I will.

I tried it for my first semester of med school and it wasn't worth it. I had already taught for TPR before, too, so I had my lesson plans already. To start from scratch would be extremely time consuming.

Don't underestimate how hard that first semester is. It was the only one that I made Bs in until my 4th year of med school (stupid friggin medicine sub-I).

I teach for TPR, and plan to continue when I start med school next year.

But like others said - the first time when you prep your lectures (and the second time when you fine tune them) is a pain. It takes FOREVER. So if you want to do it you need to start soon so you aren't teaching your first class while doing your first year of med school.

Hadn't heard about the USMLE stuff, but it makes sense. Anyone can confirm or deny that TPR teachers can get free books on other tests?
