so every day i'm getting a little more anxious about getting any more interviews from the few schools left that i have not heard a decision from, and i've been sending out periodic update letters on what i've been doing in the meantime...i just started teaching an mcat prep class, and i've heard that med schools don't like to hear that potential med students are doing this for some reason....anyone know if this is just a rumor? i don't want my status to be negatively effected by divulging this information. thanks in advance!

I've never heard of it either, but better not mention it if there are such rumors. Or maybe say that you are teaching at a learning centre, without mentioning the fact that it's MCAT prep. Just an idea.

One of my Princeton Reviews was asked about it when she interviewed at Baylor. She said the guy really liked it, and they even made a positive comment about her teaching at Princeton Review on her letter of acceptance.

I can say that at my Stony Brook interview yesterday I talked about it, and I didn't get any impression that the interviewer took it as a negative. Of course, you never know, but she was pretty up-front with me about everything else.

where are you getting this information??

if it was from a gunner at your school doing premed...that would explain a lot 😉

but dont worry bout that. its impressive that you have mastered enough knowledge to able to teach students that pay a lot of money to learn from you.
