UCSF requires me to collect about 200 teeth in 10% formalin. However, I'm a Canadian and currently I'm in Asia. Whether I'm in Asia, or Canada, or even in Chicago (family member there), I don't think I can ship my collected teeth in formalin to CA because it's labeled class 9 dangerous goods. I'm really bummed. I don't know what to do. Is anyone else in the same boat?

Getting formalin and contacting willing dentists to help out are not easy either. However I'm sure I can figure it out somehow. But shipping restrictions? I don't know...

Mom, dad, sister, brother, friend? All can drop off a jar at a nearby oral surgeon. Buy them one of those annoying wooden frogs all the vendors sell as a token of appreciation 🙂

As for the shipping...I would imagine there's someway. If not, just drive I guess. Definitely get on your family member in the states though

You should email the admissions office with your dilemma and your current location. I guarantee they would help you out someway or another

Main idea of placing teeth in formalin is to disinfect.....so actual time for disinfection is 2wks I guess...after tht u can discard the formalin, sterilize the teeth and u can transport.....
