I'm not totally sure how to answer this question. Do you tell the adcom your life story or what I'm currently doing(like finishing undergrad, where i'm living, etc).

"I'm a whack off. I sleep with my teddy bear. I'm in love with Britney Spears."

Honesty baby.

Well, my name in Jim Bob, I grew up in Macbook, Mississippi. I have always been a fan of computers, sports, and science. I was president of the geek club in HS, played football in college, and obtained a Bachelors degree in Applied Microphysics from Yale University. I first became interested in dentistry during high school, shadowed some dentist, did a few internships, and I am now pursuing a career in dentistry. My aspiration is to go back home once I graduate dental school, and be the best dental provider Macbook has ever seen!

...Get the drift!

If your interviewer isn't awkward, then he/she will make this question into a conversation. Start off saying stuff about yourself...it can be anything. I think it's actually better to stay away from dentistry at this point because that question will probably come up later. To me, "tell me about yourself" is asking more about your hobbies, your family life, your background. Once you start talking, the interviewer will most likely start talking too. Like a conversation 🙂

Simple. In 2-3 minutes you have to be able to hit the following topics:
1. Your personal background (early life up to current life)
2. Your personal passions (in your life, generally)
3. What you have accomplished in college or in the time preceding this app cycle
4. How experience in #3 have shaped what you want to do in the future

I stress the 2-3 time limit. Make it brief, but hit all your points.

You dont want to lose their attention. Going for too long will do this for sure. Keep it short, sweet, and interesting!! 👍
