Hey guys...this is my Temple feedback:
Well, I gotta admit...this was such a great interview. I dont know how any school is gonna top this one! The head of recruitment, Brian Hahn is hilarious....since he is so young and outgoing, he made the day SOOO laid back. And since he is such a big hockey fan, I just had to give him some words about his Flyers...Cmon, Im a Toronto boy...and Toronto and the Flyers have a huge hate for each other, so we had some fun with that. If I goto temple, Ill be wearing my Leaf Jersey for sure! ALso, I guess I was lucky because I had a group that was great. So funny, so down to earth...it was great!
After we split up, we had group interviews. My group had 4 people and our interviewer was a student. He was great, and all of us just shooted the **** for an hour.
Now about the school....their clinical experience is incredible. I was talking with a 3rd year student who just started clinicals recently and he told me he already did 20 extractions...isnt that amazing??? and he just started! Regarding the equipment, it seemed really good....im sure not as shiny as NOva or Arizona, but they definitely did not look run down! The students I had talked to were very happy to be at Temple.
About the infamous neighborhood....alright guys....I understand this IS the ghetto, but seriously...People are making it seem like bullets are flying everywhere. GImme a break. Every urban centre has a ghetto....are u gonna live in surburbia and separate yourself from the realities of city life all your life?? Reminds me of the cartoon in Bowling for Columbine...heheheh....but like one guy said in the SDN interview feedback, get out of the white picket fence!
Overall, I thought Temple was really laid back, and the people there were super friendly. ANd plus, since in Massachussetts, there is not a state school, Temple is the only chance I can get cheap tuition.....sooooo much cheaper than NYU, BU or TUfts. I would hardly have any debt!! And they have a DMD/MPH combined degree which is what I want, and many outreach programs! So far, Temple is definitely become my #1 choice. However, I will still go for my BU and Tufts interview with an open mind, cause I really wanna make a rational decision, and Tufts and BU look like good schools for me as well....that is....IF I GET ACCEPTED! 😀
The only negative thing I felt was that Philly didnt compare with New York, because I had so much fun in NYC....but hey...NYC is only 1.5 hours away and Atlantic City (which I went to yesterday) was only 45 mins away.
