Hello all,
Does anyone know if Temple still grants phone interviews or is it mandatory to attend on-campus interview?

Thanks

I played with this idea last year when I applied. According to admin, they will do a phone interview if it is impossible for you to get to Philly. However, I would not recommend this at all--you can make a much bigger impression interviewing in person. I would call the admin office and see what your options are.

Thanks for the info. BTW, did you choose to do your interview by phone when you applied last year and did you get in? I will call the admin to question about the matter.

I have an interview with Temple early February, but when I called to make my interview appointment, the administrative assistant told me they can do phone interviews. I was really considering doing the phone interview, since I am out-of-state and didn't want to deal with travel accomodations. I've asked if there is any disadvantage to do a phone interview and I was informed there wasn't. However, I looked into it further- I have friends who are pharmacy students there now and I work under a pharmacist who graduated from Temple 2 years ago, and they have all advised me to go to the interview. It is really hard to give off the right impression over the phone. Also, that alum told me that the admissions committee will see that you made the effort to be there, especially if you are coming from out-of-state, and they will know that you are really interested in the school. My friends who are current students there now said there isn't anyone they know in their respective classes that did a phone interview. I guess in the end it's really up to you, but if you ask most people, they will advise you to actually do a live interview rather than a phone interview. Hope this helps a little!

No, I made it down for the interview. I highly recommend making every effort to be there. Not only will you be able to make a better impression, but you also get a tour of the campus. Also you will be able to really get a feel for the campus to see if Temple is right for you. I doubt that admin will tell you it will make a difference in their decision, however, making it to the interview shows you truly are interested in the school--remember getting into pharmacy school is very competitive--they want someone enthusiastic about attending. If you are applying to numerous schools, and Temple is not your first choice, then you might want to reconsider going to the interview. Good luck!
