I have a question I was hoping soemone could answer for me. I had an interview at temple, and I am a pennsylvania resident. I realize that temple interviews about 25% of their appliacnts. I also know it is importnat to have an early interview ( before dec 1st).
I also know Temple takes around 40% of the class from in state ( pennsylvania).
So, my question is, out of the remaining 25% of the applicant pool ( those interviewed), what chance do I have of getting accepted. I know I cant figure this out in a mathmatical fashion, but I was wondering if I have a "high" chance of acceptance. ex, if 1000 people apply, they would interview 250. And, out of that 250, 100 would come from pennsylvania. I just do not know how to "calculate' applyingh early, etc etc

I believe at the Temple interview he said they are interviewing close to 800 people. I think there class is around 120. If you interview before December 1st your chances go way up... but after... it is questionable. I'm guessing that even though they accept 40% instate, they do not interview 300-350 in state people... probably less than that... I'm guessing 250... they accept ~50 in state people (from what you say)... then your chance is 1 in 5...

Now this is just an estimate... and has no scientific bearing at all... but just a guess from the total of 800 people being interviewed.

Good Luck to you... and remember, most of the people interviewing at Temple are also interviewing at tons of other places too... so there is high possibility that of those 800 people... a lot will attend other schools.

I remember he also said that about 300 get acceptance letters and about 50% attend so the chances aren't that bad. I know how you feel though. Temple is my top choice right now and it is nerve racking when you look at the numbers and quality of the applicants this year but I gues all we can do now is wait. Our apps and interview is done and now its all up to them. I wish you the best of luck.

When trying to figure out your chances after an interview, I don't think you can really look at how many total interviews there are. For example, out of those 800 interviews, how many are late (Feb or later)? Of the late interviews, the # of people accepted is dependent on how many students choose to go there from the first batch of acceptances.

Having said that, does anybody know how many interviews they have before Dec. 1? And out of that batch, how many acceptances do they send out on Dec. 1st?

I remeber that he had said that he had interviewed about 300 or so already and that was on the 21st of october. I do not know how many they except on december 1st though.

I was under the impression that they send out 300 or so acceptances on dec 1st, and the rest of the acceptances were dependent upon how many people of those 300 actually attend. So, if this is true, I would estimate that they would interview 550 or so by december 1st, so over half would get an acceptance letter.. that is how I interpreted it, but I could be wrong. That was kind of my whole question. If most people that inmterview before dec 1st get in, and coupled with the fact that i am from pennsylvnia, i htink I have a decent shot, but who knows. the waiting game stinks

if it makes you feel better, the day i interviewed, there were only 2 or 3 pennsylvania residents out of 15+ people.

hey, same here. when i interviwed oct 21st, there were a toal of three residents from pa there. I was also told that there are more applicants from utah then there are from pennsylvania
