MWU
-weather is NICE (im from cleveland, ohio)
-new school
-new facilities
-new way of teaching
-no clinic yet
-far from home (plane ride away)
-friendly class
-no board score results

Temple
-close(r) to home (6 hours driving)
-great clinic (how important do you thinkt his is?)
-friendly class
-solid cirriculum
-weather stinks

I'd appreciate honest remarks.. I'm leaning towards Temple but still not 100% decided.
anyone have any input on the tuition / living expenses over 4 years???

u should probably go to temple.

I have not visited Temple or know too much about them but I can speak on the issue of MWU. Besides new facilities, MWU offers a system based learning system that will allow you to fully integrate human science courses and better retain the information in the future. Second, the clinic is being built (drive by it almost everday) and will be fully finished by the fall. This new clinic will provide extremely clean instrumetns and opreratories and technologically advanced treatment. MWU offers courses in D1's Spring semester that help prepare its students for the boards. Finally, the staff at MWU is world renowned in the field of dentistry. Dr. Simonsen is second to none in his field. Additionally, the assistant dean stepped down from his prior position of dean at another school to be at MWU. And, of course beautiful weather! Any current MWU student's want to shed some light?

Actually, the system based learning is one of hte main reasons I am on the fence. Seems as though temple has not changed their cirriculum in a while...... whereas mwu is adapting and changing.

But there is nothing to say about their clinic---which I feel is very important--after all practice makes perfect right?

being a new school, mwu might still got some kinks to work out unlike temple.

I'm going to Temple, I am really excited. The only thing that would entice me to go to MWU over Temple would be the weather. Even with the weather, I would definitely still go to Temple over MWU.

Also, in Phoenix, if anything goes wrong on our nations power grid, and the aqueduct flowing into the city dries up- the "valley of the sun" becomes the "valley of death." As people panic and there is a run on water, the competition for survivial would play out somewhat like the Road Warrior movies.

Cleveland, on the other hand, is at the southern most tip of the world largest unfrozen freshwater supply.

He was referring to the Delaware river, where the water is so fresh and so clean.

Delaware river in cleveland? I'm still confused. That made no sense. Anyhow, I think for a lot of reasons, I am going with Temple. A big one being that my family will be close enough to drive and visit me (and for em to drive home without having to plan it out way in advance). Also my boyfriend lives 2 hours from Philly....and I LOVED temple no doubt when i visited--despite the old and worn appearance! So I'm sticking with my gut. I guess it was just my natural instinct to conisder the option when I got in. I went from worrying about reapplying to 2 acceptances in teh same week--crazy! Good luck everyone!

So good luck to those of you on the MWU waitlist!!! It's really hard for me to turn down that weather but I plan on moving to Florida or Georgia after I graduate anyhow 🙂

River that runs through Philly is the Delaware. It has lots and lots of Oil refineries along it. very nasty water.

Maybe you don't really care about this, but Temple's neighborhood is quite disgusting.

It's pretty much luck with how friendly your classmates will be and how your clinic experience will run. Either way you're going to get a degree so go to a school that you would feel more comfortable at.
