I need some honest feedback on these two schools, Pros and Cons of each school. I have friend who was accepted to both, just wants some honest feedback from students that attend each school?

Thanks again

I don't go to either, but I interviewed at temple, and friends have interviewed at Nova. I don't feel that either school has a particular benefit to specialize or become a better clinician. So, me being shallow, I would choose Nova - weather, the beach, hot girls, oranges, old people.... can't go wrong with those things. Then look at Temple - cold, not a very happy neighbourhood, can't think of any fruit native to Pennsylvania, and I'm not a huge fan of Bill Cosby or the 76ers.

Can't think of any fruit native to Pennsylvania ??? That's almost a funny as whoever said Tufts reminded them of a patch of grass.

So crazy... 😳p

I disagree that neither school has a particular benefit to become a better clinician. Temple is one of the more clinically emphasized/oriented dental school I know. Nova, although new, but we are also very good in clinical exposure. After comparing curriculum with University of Minnesota 3rd and 4th year dental students, Nova is far more advanced in clinical exposure in Ortho, OMFS, and Perio.

As far as specializing, I've mentioned it before that Nova does not produce specialist like UConn, Harvard, and UPenn, but again, most students come to Nova because they want a strong clinical exposure and not 100% wanting to specialize. While students select UConn, Harvard, and UPenn because they want to specialize.

FYI, higher percentage of students graduated getting into specialties does not equate a better dental school. Look at Harvard, one of worst clinical exposure dental school you can find, but 100% of their graduates are specialists.

I interviewed at Temple and Nova and was accepted to both. I selected Nova because I know I would enjoy myself there for 4 years and at the same time get a great education. Pick a school where you think you will be happy for next 4 years is my best advise for you! Either way, you'll get a DMD.

Obviously the weather at Nova is way better, but if that doesnt matter to you, I would pick Temple. Being the 2nd oldest dental school in the country, it has a very well established program, so you know what you'll be getting and there wont be any suprises. But honestly, you cant go wrong with both schools

Ladies are WAY hotter too! 😍

I was accepted to both programs as well. Here what I think.

Temple
Pros: Plenty of patients to go around, you do all your labwork
Cons: You do all of your labwork, you drag a cart around with all your instruments, cooped up in one building all day pretty much, weather

NOVA
Pros: Your at the beach, higher class patient pool (you will get more aesthetic procedures from what i've heard), hottest ladies of any interview I went on 😀
Cons: Less established

Yes, I agree. I answered the question kind of thinking about myself; I want to specialize. As for the clinical exposure, although Temple probably is a little better for this than Nova, I don't think it could be that much better to justify choosing Temple.

If I were choosing by myself, I would pick Nova. If my parents had any say in the matter, I'd probably end up at Temple cause it's a little closer to home. I'm such a wimp!!!! 🙁
