Temple Waitlist

[DB#1]

I interviewed at Temple early February, and I thought that my interview went realy well. Yesterday I received a letter that states the following:

"The 2005 freshman class at Temple University School of Dentistry has reached its maximum number of students. Your application, however, had met the minimum requirements for admission for the present cycle, and we may contact you if a position in the class becomes available."

I was suprised, especially since my stats are not that bad, overall 3.4, Sci 3.3; DAT 20,20,18.
Is anyone in the same position?
I was upset because I wanted to go there. And why are they still interviewing 😕
If "good enough" applicants that interviewed early February are placed on the waitlist?

Good question. I haven't even interviewed there, but yesterday I received their request for the application check. It stated in big, bold letters that all interviews would be for the alternate list. I spoke with someone in admissions yesterday and she told me to not even bother sending the check. I applied in February, though.

Don't even bother sending them any more money. I can't believe Temple. Why the hell waste the time, money, and effort of the hundreds they interview, if they are not even serious about offering acceptance. What a joke.

I also interviewed in early February and just got the same letter yesterday. Naturally a little disappointed-- especially since I know Temple has accepted applicants with lower stats, butta hey what can I expect having sent in my adsas at the beginning of November?

My Stats:

GPA: overall=3.53/4.00, sci.=3.3/4.00
DAT: 22/22/20 (AA/TS/PAT)

Yeah dude, same with me as well. Mine went out in Dec. and got sent in January.

DAT 22/23/18 (AA/TS/PAT)

I got into more competitive schools, but got on the alternate list here.
For you guys wondering if you should make the trouble to attend, I say do so if your stats are better than the ones you see on this thread.

My stats were decent, I havent heard anything for them... really weird, I interviewed late January.

Not that I care anymore, but its funny how it all worked out. I heard that unless you said temple was your #1 choice, they didnt let you in

It's weird that you have not heard anything, this might be interesting... let us know, cuz we all interviewed after you and got our waitlisting letters.

I did tell them that it was my #1, maybe I should call Brian and remind him 😀

I havent got anything yet either. Interviewed there on Feb 25th.

that's funny. i have high stats too (3.76, 21/21/18), and i got the waitlist letter too, although i got into much more competitive schools. i have a friend at temple and she said that temple doesn't want to inflate their numbers by accepting all these people who they know will be getting offers from "better" schools, because they know that many of those people would decline their acceptance at temple anyway, so it is a waste of time.

I got that same letter. However, I didnt take it to be a waitlist letter but rather a rejection letter. I dont know about your letters but mine says something about applying again in 2006.

Yeah mine saids something about applying again in 2006. I guess it's just a "nice" rejection letter.

i interviewed two weeks ago at temple. when i got there they told me i was interviewing for the waitlist, so i wasn't surprised to receive the waitlist letter today. the letter says something about "continuing candidate list". *sigh* i got waitlisted last week at GWU too. i need an acceptance 🙂

probably not... ive already put down two deposits at UMD, found a house, put a deposit on that... im good to go for next year 😀

Sorry, I hope i wasnt sounding like I was all upset, im not, it actually highly amuses me at this point that I didnt get into temple, but got into a better school. But I am curious as to know why... just for future reference because I sure I will be applying for something else later on. For instance, It is possible,i totally botched up the interview... its always a good thing to know.

But I hope it works out for everybody, especially those who are wanting to go to temple. Im sure people will bail at the last second, and they will get to their waitlist soon.

i interviewed there feb 18th and got the same letter the other day.
read it a million times and i guess it was a wait list letter?! like everyone else i really couldnt tell if it was a rejection letter or not.

screw temple, i'm going to PENN! ( i can live without meeting joe frazier)
