Assuming you are asking about the upcoming year (06-07), Fall semester officially ends on Dec. 15th, and Spring semester resumes Jan. 3rd, but missing the first couple of days of the spring semester at Temple your first year will not hurt you if you want/need to return later.

We have summer break between our first and second year, from June 27th to August 28th.
