Hello
I am an IMG and had applied for my Step 1 when i was in my final year (internship) of medical college and had taken Dec 09- Feb 10 slot.
Now i am having to take an extension till May 10 due to to some family issues.
I completed the online part of extension form by paying 50 dollars, and printed the next form (Form 183-E) ecfmg website showed to me.
The form has this language written -
"Verification of Enrollment by an authorized medical school official (for all medical students) - I certify that the above individual is officially enrolled in the medical school named below. "
Now verifying official is saying that he can not sign on it as it mentions official enrolled while i have graduated on 31 Dec 2009.
What do i do now ?
From what i got to know people from my college is that one can overwrite on the form and replace "is officially enrolled" with "was officially enrolled" and mention the graduation date (with sign from the verifying official).
I am going to call ECFMG and ask, but Monday is closed.
Also i was wondering if anyone has ever gone through this or heard about it.
Any help will be appreciated. Please help as i am really worried regarding all this issue.
