Hi all,

my USMLE Step 2CS is scheduled for Dec 9th in Atlanta. I would really like to swap for an earlier date if possible. I'll take anything - late August would be ideal, but anything earlier than December is good. I'll go anywhere - Anything you got, I'll take it!

Hope this suits someone else,

Regards,

Lee

isn't there something in print that says you can't swap?

as soon as you give up your seat, someone else will take it.

it will be a failed swap.

Really?

Can you tell me where it says that? I've heard other people say that, but haven't found anything in writing.

i hope it's possible - December doesn't work for me at all... I'm ready now!

Thanks,

Leeko

I also don't know where I read it but it explicitly states that you aren't allowed to trade dates or locations with anyone. Maybe you can check the nbme site where you signed up and see if the form that you are supposed to take with you says anything. I think you'd be better off trying to search to see if a date is open though i think it would be kind of tough to find something at this point for august.

I was in this situation, where I really needed to swap a date. I think the only way to do it is to compulsively refresh the Step 2 Scheduling website until an earlier date is available to click. That's what I did, and it worked.

There's also an email notification system where you can tell it to email you when a date within a certain range becomes available...but this isn't too useful b/c by the time I checked my email and checked the website, the open date would be gone. I think there's a delay in the email system so it doesn't really help.

Where did my mind go. I was supposed to take CS by Dec and totally forgot to schedule it now everything in Atlanta and Chicago is filled. Luckily something was available in LA but that is a hell of a trip to take an exam.
