Hi guys, I need hope. Every day closer to my test date (Aug 1), Im getting very anxious. I feel like I am not ready but then i think i will never feel ready. I am getting 19s across for my tests on DAT bootcamp. I feel like nothing is staying in my head. I need some motivation. Only thing pushing me is imaging opening my email seeing my acceptance. Next week I will take practice tests 1-5 for DAT bootcamp and see where I officially stand. How do you guys handle stress? I am just frustrating myself and losing confidence. I would be satisfied with a 20 AA and 20 TS. Hopefully I can score higher than what I am scoring on bootcamp! What do you guys use for motivation?

Your biggest motivation should be not having to take this damn test again. As for stress, try going for long runs or bike rides. Its a great way to destress and helps process the trove of information flowing through your head. You also have 10 days to buckle down and hit it hard, so don't stress too much. You'll never feel ready for the test, you just need to be confident that you've put in enough work to get a good score; the worst thing you can do is get down on yourself after all the hard work you've put in. You'd be surprised how many DAT breakdowns on this site open with "I didn't feel confident..." and then boom, 20-22 AA.

Thank you! I am going to give it my all the next few days and just let go and have faith.

Yea i did chem destroyer, almost done with Bio and orgo portions
I felt that the part that was hardest for me was destroyer. I lost motivation doing it because it was so long and tedious. Def give it your all the last week and a half you have left and take breaks when you need it! Having applied to 9 schools before my DAT gave me tons of motivation and I didn't want to let myself down since I spent 2+ months studying for 1 test.

Thanks! I plan on taking 5 full dat bootcamp exams next week, looking at my weak areas and fine tune them. Then i take the test!

Those next 5 practice tests will most likely tell you everything you need to know about whether or not you're ready. I was uncomfortable about mine until I took these and the 09' DAT and then realized that I was fine and took it and did very well (this was my retake). For my first one, I couldn't push it back because my test pushing up against the 6 month deadline, so I was forced to take it unprepared and did very badly. If you aren't ready, do not concede to taking a retake if you don't have to. Dumping another 450$ into a second attempt is no fun and at this point, your prep would spill into the school year. Push your date back if you have to, but you may very well be ready depending on how you do with the practice tests. Just play it by feel, you'll be fine. Good Luck!

Also, don't rely on motivation, because it fades way too easily. Realize that this is your future and if there is a specific school that you want to go to (I want to go to my cheap in-state school), you need to get the work done and put the time in to score well, and you have to find a way to digest material that works best for you. If you don't put in the necessary work, someone else in the cycle will.

I would try to take them asap instead of waiting till next week because it helps to go over them 2x, since you usually get 19s

Hi, I truly believe anything is possible if you put your mind into it. I am taking the exam that exact day!! I wish you the best... 🙂

Hi, as someone has a similar experience, my advice is to take all practice exam in three days. It sounds insane, but it will help you find your weakness fast. Do not worry about your Bootcamp score, it means nothing. If you really want to predict your score wait until the last three day and take DAT 2009. I think 2007 is way too easy than the actual DAT, and does not have a full RC session. You should use it as practice.
Do you have Destroyer? If you have, do all the question again. I am pretty sure you can finish it in three days. Finally, calm down before taking the DAT. And you will be fine and hopefully never take the exam again.

As others have said, ID your weak areas in each section ASAP, but reserve at least a couple full length tests... then I'd focus on improving the weak areas the next couple days, THEN taking the remaining full lengths to see your improvement. I don't think it does as much to improve your score if you go through the whole thing, look over the answers and then take another. Go back over other study material to understand your problem sections specifically, so that you'll be able to get similar problems right the next time. Try to keep a good sleeping pattern so you're not sleep -deprived day of test, since most likely the night b/f won't be a great sleep. Good luck!

Thank you! I was originally going to take it July 18th, but i felt i wasnt ready. August 1st is my date and I will not change it. I may not ever feel ready, but I will do the best I can!

I kind of know my weak areas and I am improving in them!
