how long does it take for the schools to receive the DAT scores after you've taken the test?

If you can't wait, you can always fax in your 'unofficial DAT report' ( the one that you receive at the conclusion of your exam) to them.

A couple of the schools I just talked to stated that they would not accept faxed scores, Arizona was one of them, I can't think of the other,

I hope it is only a week, I just took my DATs on 10/22. Three weeks would put me in the middle of november and I can really kiss my interviews befor 12/1 goodbye. Actually I would be very surprised to get any before 12/1 already.

Most, if not all, schools have the capability to go online to get your scores as soon as you are done with the exam. I think the 3 week thing is the official hard copy..

Mine took only a week... they're much faster than AADSAS

If you have any doubts about your scores being sent out, call right away. ADA had a computer glitch and my scores were not sent out immediately. Over a month after my DAT, I called them and they said that they hadn't sent it because I hadn't told them any schools which was not true (?1*#@!). They were able to take care of everything, but in all it took almost weeks from the time I took the DAT.

Your logic seems sound. I believe schools are already booked with interviews into January (figure one week for Thanksgiving and 2 weeks for Christmas where they don't do any interivews at all).
