Hey guys,

I had a few questions in regards to testing out of classes:

a.) Is CLEP approved by medical schools? I plan on taking 2 Gen-Ed CLEP exams.
b.) Can testing out of courses hurt you in anyway? I am really doing this to speed up the process, and save some money.

Thanks for your time,

1) You need to check with individual schools. Some schools don't care, others won't accept AP or CLEP credit for their required prerequisites. A copy of the MSAR or some searching on school websites will probably get you the information you need.

2) I would imagine it would be kind of dubious at best. But I really don't know. It would look bad if these courses were prereqs to some other courses you needed to take and you did poorly in the advanced courses. Apart from that, though, I don't see why it would hurt.
