Am I correct in assuming tetrahydro means addition of four hydrogens?

Like in tetrahydrofuran? There are 4 Hydrogen atoms added to the furan ring which eliminates the double bond? Can this be used with others besides furan?

Sorry my ochem is a little weak/rusty. If you have any advice/resources for me it would be much appreciated.
