My state is BETTER than yours. Yes, I said it. Everyone LEAVES Texas to come to my state. They're also leaving CA in droves for my state.... Have been for a solid decade now. We all wish they'd turn around and go back, but something keeps us from turning away the poor refugees -- probably the guilt of knowing where they'd be returning to....

How many interview invites has everyone gotten? I was complete in June and have 1 interview invite so far. Should I be planning to reapply?

To be honest it doesn't look promising. I would imagine most competitive applicants complete that early would have heard back from more schools. What are your stats?

Either way, best of luck to all Texas applicants this cycle, I'm not originally from Texas, but its the first state I've ever lived in and I love it (military brat 😉)

I got 2 interviews before Nov. 15 but one is on Nov. 9th so I probably wont be hearing a thing until much later.

My stats are 3.74 cGPA, 3.65 sGPA and a pretty balanced 30 MCAT. I think my MCAT might be holding me down but not too sure what to think right now.

Looks very similar to my stats. I have 3 interviews so far...

Anyhow, the interview season is nowhere near over and with those stats I'm confident you'll receive a few more invites. Keep your head up, stay positive and stay busy, one day you'll check your email inbox and they will be there.

Agreed, your profile on the surface looks okay, but problem is there are hundreds if not thousands of others "just like you" in the applicant pool. You can PM your essays and I'll give them a quick read...or not, as there is nothing you can do about those now anyway.

Hope you score a few more invites later in the season.

I will have 3 and I am starting to get worried. Really hoping for an interview from UT-H. I don't know how I could be considered good enough for 3 Texas schools but not considered good enough for UT-H. FML 🙁

Thanks man, I know it is. I have toured the TMC before and it blew me away. I am starting to lose hope for an interview from this school.

I think my app is standard in a lot of ways, which is why I am having some trouble this year.

Our stats are nearly exact except for a few hundredths of a point on the GPAs. I have had 5 interviews thus far, but this is my third year applying. I would suggest starting to prepare for re-application now. It only takes one interview to get in, but it's better to be ready to re-apply than to compromise your application for next year. The most important thing you can do is improve your application in some obvious way (i.e. focus on one aspect whether it be research, community service, or healthcare experience and do really well at it). I was wait-listed at 2 schools last year and didn't get in to either, so believe me when I say I feel your pain.

Thanks! I am officially accepted now! But my apps were all transmitted to schools by May 4th. I submitted the first day and had mailed in my check 2 days prior so it would arrive on the first possible day. I am pretty sure I went a little overboard with the "apply early" thing though...
