I'm planning on retaking the MCAT in August. I was browsing through the "official" TMDSAS thread and read that schools can look at your app before the August results are available. My question is can they decline interviews before the August results come in? Or do they review the file again after they get the new scores (ie do you get two shots at an interview)?

Yea, I have the same question... but I think that some schools look at your previous scores/gpa/PS and screen you. I think UTMB looks at your stuff but will not kick you if you are retaking the Aug MCAT. (not sure.. but that's what I've been told) I am doing the same.. my previous scores suck.. so hopefully Aug will be my last time.. but I'm hoping they won't screen me before they get to see my Aug score.

I'm in the same boat as y'all (unfortunately... 🙁 ). I emailed most of the schools and the consensus is that they look at your application with the April score. If you don't get an interview then, they re-review it when they get your August score. The exception is A&M. They can't look at your file until they have your August scores. Hope that helps!

Hey GutsyGal, I'm sorry you're also in our predicament. But thanks so much for the confirmation! Good luck to everyone in August (and February) 😀
