Texas Wait List

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I have not heard about any movement from the Texas wailists except for a few who moved off the Southwestern and Baylor wailist. As far as the other schools are concerned, it seems as if they have not started to let people know. I am sure there will be movement however, and hopefully soon! Best of luck to you!

On June 1, everyone who was already accepted to a TX school was automatically dropped from waitlists at all other TX schools. The ball should get rolling sometime soon.

Bumb.........

Have a friend who was waitlisted at UTSW, and just got pulled off. Wish you guys all the best.

What school are u referring to Tazdoc?

That would be UTSW.

I know for A&M they are not expecting much movement from their waitlist as their class is small, and already oversubscribed. However, what do you guys think about the UT schools? I would think there would be movement because of people who earned acceptance to Baylor? Have ya'll talked to anyone from admissions at the other schools?

That seems like a likely scenario.

Hi TazDoc,
I have another friend waitlisted at A&M, and this is what they told him. Also, I used to work for a P.I. at their med school, and he said their class is already over-subscribed. There may still be movement from the waitlist however, so don't count yourself out! Best of luck! I hope things work out for you!

Seg,

I have a few two friends who have been waitlisted--one at Southwestern & one at TX A&M (not me). What's going on with A&M and their acceptances?

Hi Tazdoc,
I am not sure whether the 76 acceptance is typical. I am aware however, that most of the Texas schools offered more acceptances this year, and are therefore not expecting as much movement from the waitlists as in the past. You should email Filo (shortened name for dean of med at A&M) or his secretary. They are more than willing to help out the students and welcome questions. I will try to contact my PI for you and ask his opinion. He is currently in San Francisco for a conference. I will post any info I receive under this thread. Good luck, I really hope you move off the wailist! You seem to be in good position!
