Hey everyone I was wondering what full text you guys recommend for OBGYN clerkship. Our director said he didn't want to see us using blueprints, and Beckman is our required text. Was wondering if there is anything else that's good out there, thanks!

Beckmann isn't bad. NMS is kinda long but great! But nothing beats blueprints

I thought the latest edition of Beckman >> Blueprints. Blueprints stopped trying a while ago, it's way too sparse on detail and there's no logic to how they present anything. Beckman is the official ACOG book, and you can tell they at least make an attempt to be a complete resource. Case Files and Pretest were also good. I ended up with the high score on the mini-board in my group, so it worked for me.

In any case, you certainly don't need Beckman AND Blueprints, just pick one.

Blueprints isn't great for explanations of some things. I would suggest only using it if you want to reference another resource. I suggest Case Files, pretest, and UWorld.

I did Case Files x 2, UWorld, and parts of Pretest.

I received an A on the shelf and Honors in the clerkship with just those.

FYI, the online questions that come with Beckman's has quite a few errors, mostly miskeyed answers. They aren't that helpful in terms of board prep so I just quite doing them.

Then just leave blueprints at home.

I actually liked blueprints for OB/GYN, seemed like it covered the basics well and pretty much all the criteria and stuff that I was pimped on throughout the rotation.

ACOG Practice Bulletins are fantastic to both prep for the floors, and for the shelf.

Highly recommend reading at least a few of the most common ones. Ask a resident if your school doesn't give you access.

agree with this. I didn't read them, but ob-gyns love those acog practice bulletins.

man, that's weird that your course director would specifically ban you guys from using a book, especially when that book is suggested by the faculty at many schools (blueprints was our suggested text). for what it's worth, I went with Blueprints+Case Files+UWise Q's, each twice, and spanked the shelf.
