TFE and Angle on achiever vs Real DAT

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Angle ranking has been notoriously known to catch the students off guard on the real PAT. I took the DAT this April and the rumor of getting angle questions only differ 1 degree (maybe another degree more) is seriously not a joke. You should definitely work your sleeves up on this section and find a way to handle these questions.

on the TFE section
can we use the line/action counting thing? i heard its not effective

It won't work well on the real thing. Most of the drawings are simple enough for you to figure out the 3D models. I think Achiever's PAT on tests 4 and 5 are working into training you for this.

It all depends on what test version you are going to get at the testing center. From what I know, most other sections of the PAT like aperture, TFE, or pattern folding will be easier if you are screwed with the angle ranking. The reverse is also true. It would obviously not hurt getting used to the nasty parts of the PAT through the practice tests just to be on the safe side.

Hi all,

Are the Achiever's PATs similar to real DAT (or even CDP)?
They have some angle questions only differ 1 degree! How would you do that?

I was soo happy when I got to the first 30 questions of PAT 4, which are significantly easier than the first three PAT tests till I bumped into these "painful" angle problems. You would just need to formulate a way to overcome them; answer elimination while comparing the angles about two feet away from the screen helps quite a bit. I managed to improve from 5/15 to 9/15 in PAT 5 using this method; not good still but hopefully the real thing will be easier.

I just thought that the pictures in PAT 4 and 5 are a lot more well drawn with more doable questions other than the angles.
