I can somewhat picture the image and understand why the answer is B. My question is in regard to the dashed object below for the front view.

If it was a dashed square to the right proportion, would it also be correct? Is there a way to know whether or not it is a circle or a square based on what we are given?

wow tricky question! I went for A. But I guess that's wrong haha! I have the same question. How can you tell if it's a square or a circle?

I would have answered A as well, but the very inner dashed square was too small.

Oh I see. I guess proportionality is important to take into consideration.

What if there was an option that looks like A except the inner square was in proportion. What would the BEST answer be then? That or still B?

They wouldn't have that as an answer choice if B was also present because they could both be considered correct. In this particular question, without looking at the answer choices, it could be either a square or circle. If you are stuck between two similar answer choices you really need to compare proportions. The PAT section of DAT Achiever is good for practice with proportions.

That is good to know. Thank you!
