So I went to Savon but didn't find any.. just a bunch of birthdays, wedding, etc. Anyone know where to get Thank You cards? Also is it better to send one in after getting interviews or to send one in soon after they give you LOR? Just wondering what would be the best timing, because they do want to know if i get interview spots, so wondering if I should wait or not.

Usually thank you is said after someone does something for you, so I'm guessing within days of them giving you the LOR.

Thank you cards are everywhere. Usually, you'll have to buy a box of many. I think most stores keep them near wrapping papers and stuff. You may have to break down and go to another store or even pick up the phone and call to see if the store carries them.

Good luck with your quest.

I'm getting my one recommender a six pack of beer (he's a big beer person), and maybe some fresh flowers for my other one.

I just bought thank you cards for my 3 recommenders. It's a small gesture, but a heart-felt thank you goes a long way. So far, one pharmacist was very enthusiastic about the card and even called to say he thought it was very cute. 🙂

Definitely do something to show your appreciation! It's a good practice.

Most people seem to say that giving the thank you card not too long after they write the recommendation is the way to go. I actually procrastinated on it until just last week (all 3 wrote my LORs in July). But hey, better late than never.
