Alright, I have been waiting to hear back from Iowa and checking my ISIS profile but it always says my application is "In Progress".

Then, a few days ago the AD sent me an email thanking me for interviewing.

Is this a rejection?? Or, am I still in the running?

Any thoughts...

Well, what else did the email say...surely it didn't just say "thanks for interviewing.???"

I would venture to guess that your application is still being taken into consideration, but they're filling up slots they prefer right now. A lot of schools accept higher scores in the beginning so they can gauge how many of the (us) lower qualified applicants they can let in and their averages still be at the numbers they want.

wait... you've interviewed there right? How long ago was that? some dental schools do send "thank yous" like 1-2 weeks after the interview is conducted, from my experience it didn't mean anything

I'm in progress too, but I haven't got that email. It's doesn't look like they've given too many acceptances though. How long ago did you interview?

They're not shy when it comes to giving out rejections! They'll send you a letter that says you've been rejected. So, unless you've received a letter that specifically says you've been rejected, I'd say they're still considering you!

I interviewed at Iowa on Nov. 1st. The email was a short message thanking me for showing up, etc. Also, I haven't gotten a rejection letter from them.

So, I guess am just playing the waiting game.

Oh, and I am OOS.
