Well, I had to take my kid to the ER today. She fell and split open her chin. I didn't really feel like doing the kitchen table lac repair, plus I didn't have any suture equipment at home. So I took her to the ER I used to work at.
I have to say the resident and nurses did a great job. Everyone was super nice, adequately prompt (3 residents, 1 NP and 1 MD covering a department I used to single cover) and the wound repair looked great. I eyeballed it pretty intensely at the end, because if it didn't look awesome I was going to be pissed and probably redo it myself, but it looked excellent.
My kid actually wrote a thank you note to the resident doc.
I say, "Thank you all for the work you do," on behalf of myself, my kid and all the people to stressed, hurried, distracted or preoccupied to say thanks. You do great work.
