Grrr! I have finished my personal statement; it is 4,499 characters of something I am happy with, and I cannot save it! The little red "must be between 100 and 4500 characters" thing keeps popping up! I know it should fit! Could it be my browser or something?!?!? Arrgh!!!

Did you type it directly into the text box on the form, or did you transfer it from a word processing program like Word? If it's the latter, there may be formatting issues that are somehow causing you to go "over" the limit.

As HunterGather suggested, try pasting your PS into Notebook (from Word or from wherever you typed it) and THEN pasting it into AACOMAS.

I just want to say how much frusteration Microsoft Word has saved me whenever I paste a PS in there and then use the word count. It really does lower my blood pressure.

Once you get that bad boy in there don't dare click on that part of the application again.
I second this. What you need to do is type your personal statement in Microsoft Word and then cut and paste it into AACOMAS then save it. If you want to fix anything fix it in the Word document then clear out the PS in AACOMAS and repaste the word document in its place or else you'll get the character limit error. Hope that make sense!

Always type your PS in word for grammar and spelling check, then paste it onto notepad, which is a program from windows. any weird formatting will be taken off in notepad, and then you can paste onto aacomas.

Good luck. 😛
