The 8 year plan (really!)

Go Steelers! 😎

You know, I grew up as a Penn State fan and I love watching college football but I don't have a particular allegiance to any team I guess. I vaguely follow the teams of the schools I've been to (4 of them  ) but mostly just like to watch casually.

Go Steelers! 😎

I'll second that! First pre-season game this Thursday! I'm going to try to convince the bar down the street to put the game on (no cable let alone NFL network). Since it's a Thursday game I think they'll be willing :xf:

More hijacking....
Not excited about football season??? Not even college?
wow....
Go Bucks! 😀

I might have an allegiance to a college football team (only to support the school, since I don't like football) if I'd gone to a big university where football was a big deal, but I didn't. I went to a tiny liberal arts school in a little Midwest podunk town with a terrible football team- where trying on random lingerie at the Wal-Mart Supercenter at 2 am was more exciting that some silly football game. Oh, and the bowling alley was a happening place, too. 😀

FYI (for those who care), I am waiting to hear back from UF. They are doing the new class orientation right now so they wont be getting back to me until Friday or Monday.

Good first step!

PS The next thing I have to figure out after I figure how to salvage my academics is how Im going to get significant volunteer experience. I grew up on a horse farm and I have helped foal horses, deliver puppies and kittens, trained people's dogs for them and assorted and sundry other farm related tasks (rabbits, dont forget the rabbits!) but I obviously didnt log them and I'm thinking "I grew up on a farm" isnt really going to cut experience-wise on a CVM app. But thats for another post perhaps. 😀

One place to get experience is through World Vets (http://www.worldvets.org) which offers international veterinary volunteer work with lots of hands-on experience. POsitions are available for volunteers with no prior vet experience. With your Navy background, you may be interested (or not!) in volunteering with World Vets on Pacific Partnership which is a joint humanitarian effort with the US Navy (there is a veterinary component).
