I just did the deed today. Yay me! Shout-out to Jigabro & WiredNerv for always answering my questions. 😍 And my 1st grade teacher Ms Morgan for teaching me how to read good. 👍

On my way home, I started thinking that the reason they (the adcoms) want you to take such a monster of a test, is NOT to see how good you are in these subjects. If they wanted that, they could just look at your grades. Rather, I think it's a mind game to see if you have what it takes to synthesize a lot of information into one test, much like we'll (hopefully) be doing in d-school. It's a taste of things to come.

Anyways, here's the damage:
Bio 20
OC 20
GC 20
TS 20
QR 15 <kindly ignore 😱
PAT 19
RC 19
AA 19

So sad about QR, but overall I'm pretty satisfied and soooo relieved. I'll post a breakdown if anyone wants, but I think anything I have to say has pretty much been said already.

Anyways, good to luck to everyone still studying!

Nice scores ROSE! you did great.

👍👍👍👍👍

I thought you were taking your test tomorrow...like me! yeah, would you mind giving me a breakdown of how you thought the sections were? test is in 24 hours =). i hope i can have some good scores tomorrow. did you not study that had for math or was it just darn too tough?

CELEBRATE that you are done!

Rosey rose rose....can you give me a break down of the chemistry sections? Bio i know i just gotta read and absorb as much as i can. QR well, that is just luck, you either click and hit da Q's right or u just freak out and time swallows u up WHOLE, like a macrophage. ~see i been studying a little bio~ RC is just reading and u need ur own test taking technique. PAT....well i guess can u elaborate on that section as well.

Thanks.😛

Haha yeah, I rescheduled because I'm going on vacation and also because I was getting antsy. 😛

Breakin it down just for you, my dears:

QR - It was easy I swear! I just take too long to do calculations. A lot of it was word problems and it takes time to figure out just what they're looking for. I had to randomly guess on the last few because of time, so I'm sure that's what caused such a low score. For anyone considering buying Crack Math, in the name of chocolate, don't! It's bad bad bad. 👎

Bio - People aren't kidding when they say it's more of a thinking test. I got a lot of application type questions that test understanding and not so much memorization. I got a weird slide question, and some experimental/lab stuff. When you're reviewing try to stop and think "what would happen if I changed this step in a certain process?" For bio, I used Cliffs, EK, DD, and listened to audio osmosis during my commute.

Chem - Very conceptual, maybe 4-5 calculations. A lot of it I felt was very easy. I used destroyer here and an AP book which I thought was good and to the point.

Orgo - Suprisingly, not a lot of rxns. I got lab questions, isomerism, and the like. I only used EK and DD for this, and thought they were both good.

RC - I got the infamous ethics passage! If you get this, just try to remain calm. It's not as bas as everyone says. I just did the word search method and marked anything that was taking me too long to answer. Never really practiced for this section, just kind of winged it and hoped for the best.

PAT - Suprisingly easy if you've done Crack the Pat. What helped me for angles was to use my "dominant eye method." Basically keep your weaker eye closed, then use your fingers to shorten the angles so you can only see the tips of them. I used to get all the angle questions right on practice tests using this method.... I guess I looked kind of silly with my one eye closed and fingers in the air because the testing lady came over to see what on earth I was doing! I wasn't touching the screen or breaking any rules, so she couldn't stop me. neener :meanie:

On topscore, achiever, and kappie tests, I was scoring 15-19 so don't take these to heart. Just focus on learning why you got stuff wrong. If anyone wants to buy the tests from the Kap class you can pm me.

Having wrote allll this, I should mention that there are diff versions of the test so you might not get the same test I did.

:luck:

haha, thanks alot rose! i hope you have a great vacation! i can't do much more studying now...just thinking of my game plan when i enter the test center. i'll let you know if they stop by at my computer station because also do the dominant eye for the angles with the fingers...this method rocks! i'm kind of scared now because of the lab techniques...but oh well. just got to keep confident...

I had the same version.....yes that f***ing ethics passage r*p*d me....
and QR was awful.....there were so many questions where i was like "ok so WHAT THE HELL"

But the only good thing is Science sections were not bad....though Bio was completely application based rather memorization....

bio - so does that mean we have to know lab techniques? or is it just intuitive that you can derive from the question itself?

QR - compare to Topscore, what's the level of actual DAT?

i never ever got below 22 on any of the practice tests for QR and was depending on QR to keep my AA up....

There were 1 or 2 lab technique questions but others were not direct and even for smart guesses you have to know the options in depth.....

Nice job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You even changed your avatar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jigabro...I kinda like that.

Ahhh yes, just for you Mr. Chang.

Although I have to say, my scores couldn't touch yours with a 10 ft pole. The machine must have broke when it printed those out. 😱

Yeah, I was really relaxed through the whole science section......it wasn't too bad. The RC & QR though, nearly gave me a heart attack.

When the test lady congratulated me on my scores, I told her I was depressed about QR. She promptly told me "Oh, shut up! You should be proud." Best test lady ever.

congrats ... im sure the weight is lifted off your shoulders ... enjoy your well deserved vacation.

consistent scores. good job👍
don't worry too much about the QR. you will be fine.

although i've done rather well on the PAT overall, when i do practice tests my angles are the worst part and is what is holding me back from getting the upper 20's i know i can get. please PM, or write on here this whole dominant eye thing...never read or heard about that one.

hmmm...I thought I explained this well enough. I'll pm you.

Could you just explain the angle thing a little more clearly here? And for the bio, what do you mean exactly? An example maybe?

Oh, and congrats!

An example for bio? I'm sorry but we're venturing into illegal territory right there. I can tell you there were experimental problems, like: "A researcher studying ____ removed _____ from an animal and replaced it with ____, what would he see?" Not too bad really.

Hahaha, you are Ms.popular right now rose!

Grrrrr...are you making fun of me Mr. Chang?

Hey everyone, look!! Jiga got better scores than me, he'll be happy to answer your questions! :meanie:
