...at Dave & Buster's has come to fruition. 115,000 tickets later....and I have a new mechanism by which I can waste time at home:

My brand spakin' new Playstation 3. With the receipt that thus proves I am a loser who saved up 115,000 tickets.

Twinkie is intrigued.

You should have seen me walk down Columbus Blvd. afraid to death someone was going to shoot me and steal my new toy.

I love this damn Philadelphia place. I think I might move here....

I love the trivia game. I always get hundreds of tickets from that. Don't know the name of it or if it's in every location..

Funny how everything is in credits so you don't really know how much you're spending.

How much did 115,000 tickets cost?

Dave & Buster's? I have one of those down the street from me...walking distance. Never been inside...and can't say I plan to anytime soon.

So at 115,000 tix...how much did you actually spend to get that PS3?

I usually got 6,000-8,000 tickets off of $53, I dunno, figure it out. I dominate at Trivia. I get 5s all day long. Most of the questions are easy unless they are about Disney movies. most of the quesitons are stuff people should probably know...but don't. I was in a game against 5 black people and none of them knew where Martin Luther King was assassinated. And then a hick, cracker ass son of a bitch like me is the only one that gets it right. They all thought it was Birmingham for some reason....prolly because he was jailed there. That was an awkward moment. I also mock them all in a thick Appalachian accent to further embarrass them for losing to a backwoods hick. This gets them pissed off further and less able to play at 100%. I'm like an old school pool shark.....dressed in a John Deere sweatshirt....WVU ball cap...haven't shaved in two weeks...that kid ain't a threat....MWAHAHA.

BTW, a PS3 like this costs $500 + tax, FYI.

At 7,000 tickets for $53.00, the play station cost you $870.00. You have to include the enjoyment of he competition....

Haha...trivia? Ok...that's not as bad as I feared.

I'm all over the Disney movies though...so next time you get stumped on Bambi or Pocahontas...you know how to use your lifeline.

In addition to that, all time, I've gotten 4 t shirts, a DVD recorder, a camcorder, a digital camera, countless nick nacks, about 10 glasses, and a few other things. If my ratio is about 8/5 in cost to real goods ratio, D&B ain't that bad of a deal. The joy of beating other people relentlessly is quite satisfying and worth the added money....

The coolest thing that I got from one of those places was a Sponge Bob backpack. I don't remember how it happened, but the kid running the gameroom clued me into the best way to rack up tickets. I think it was cheating, but I no one cared.
Anyway, I love that backpack. It even talks when you squeeze Sponge Bob's hand 😀.

D&B is okay to me...I like Yardhouse a LOT more. I wish they had one in philly.

Aww I like Twinkie... SO CUTE! *MEOW!*

^^ yeah that's it. It's based out of Long Beach, they have locations all over Southern California, and are expanding to Houston, Palm Beach/Coral Gables, Honolulu, etc... If you don't go for the beer, their food is awesome. I get the Mac & Cheese (eat half, save the other half for tomorrow's lunch) and maybe a glass of Framboise.

The one here is right next door to D&B, and the food at D&B isn't so great, so we usually eat at Yardhouse then walk over and drink/play games. Good times 👍👍

And if anyone reading this happens to be in the Orange County area, there are 3 Yardhouse locations within 15-20 minutes of each other. Go to the one in Fashion Island (Newport Beach). It recently opened and doesn't have a huge crowd on Fri/Sat nights (vs. the Irvine location--goodluck getting a table).

Yep! I've been to the one in Palm Beach Gardens (my home town), San Diego and Long Beach. Fun times at all of them. I'm not much of a beer drinker, but their draft list is impressive...same with the martinis/mixed drinks. Great recommendation 👍😉

What is a Dave & Buster's

I have a friend that works the private parties at D&B. She catered to Kobe Bryant once, said he was an ass and kept asking for things and wanted to stay longer. The manager got pissed off and basically said, "Well...I guess we'll just have to open the front doors then since it's opening time," and he disappeared out the back with the quickness.

Private companies will drop six figures to rent out the whole place and pre-tip all the waitstaff so their employees don't have to tip. She mentioned making roughly $60k/yr working on average 25 hours per week, which I don't believe to be an exaggeration.

you're a girl right?

edit: just saw your profile. i don't know any guy that drinks framboise, and only eats half their mac & cheese. man up! 😀

haha...if it means getting obese, no thanks. Portions in this country are too large for our own good.

But good for us pharmacists/future pharmacists...more lipitor scripts!

And framboise is Belgian beer with raspberries added as a secondary fermentation...you can stick to your crappy bud.
