Hello,
I was going through some drills in my MCAT book. This one was a passage question section involving some nuclear particles. One of the questions gave me a wavelength, but nothing was given about what the ranges were for em radiation from the spectrum, i.e. it said it was 595 nm, so what type of radiation is it? I didn't recall the spectrum ranges...is this something I should memorize? What range are x rays in, infrared, etc.?

It's electromagnetic radiation. Specifically, it's visible light.

should know that 400ish to 700ish nm is visible light! higher is infrared, lower is UV.

come aaaan i'm sure you remember this from science classes!

Yea, you'll be expected to know the range for visible light. You won't need to know the line between other types of light though, such as microwaves, xrays, etc. But memorize the range of visible light for sure.
