It's hard to believe that I've been here for an entire month. It's odd how fast time passes, and how much you go through without really realizing it. I can still remember looking over the syllabus for english wondering how I was going to write that assignment on paperclips, and the fear of doing my first chemistry laboratory.

It turned out alright. I've been doing good in all of my classes so far. Physics is by far my easiest subject, english is the most interesting and biology is the most dreaded. I can learn all the information, but our professor has superfluous lectures and our laboratory component worth 50%. He is so vague about what he expects of us, and now I'm left with a feeling that I'll be content with a B in it.

I've had a lot of doubts about continuing on in this path. I've been thinking about switching into a major in philosophy or doing computer science. It would be nice to do something that involved little to no pressure, and weren't left in a constant state of panic waiting for the marks back on assignments and tests.

I think the key to getting through all of this will be keeping my motivation to getting up at 6:30 every morning, studying all day and being well prepared for each class. I get to go home for thanksgiving in two weeks which be great since I haven't seen my family since I moved here. My hair is kind of long and scraggly so I'm looking forward to getting that cut, eating home cooked food and getting some new dress shirts and boxers.

A huge supply of boxers is an absolute must in university. How come no one warned me?

It is amazing sometimes just how fast time seems to go sometimes. Actually it is quite scary, especially for those of us who are 30 something years old.

Glad your month seemed to go well for you.🙂

Computer science is not for you if you're looking for an easy course load. Trust me I have a degree in biology and I almost finished a second degree in CS. I stopped going to school while getting married, and just never got around to finishing the second degree, but I can tell you that computer science was much harder than biology. I lost count of the number of all-nighters I had to pull in CS to get a program or circuit working correctly.
It was fascinating and I really learned a lot, but it was never easy or stress-free.

noone warned you about the huge load of boxers because we just wear one days on end.........then flip them and wear it multiple days again......

you find a system you are comfortable with and you can get by the year quite nicely rotating 3 or 4........ 😉

😀 😀 😀

So if you are in Halifax, were you dumped on by the storm last night? I understand it was really bad?

The storm? Lol. It's been a week since I was last here. Why? Well, I've been in a powerful 22 story residence. Toilets don't flush, no running water, ... I am the dirtest, most miserable person on Earth.
