It is finally here people! Time to start the preparation for my DAT. Today, we will begin with 30 minute sessions for general chemistry, biology, and organic chemistry. I am very rusty on the chemistries, so we will start out slow. I am using the Kaplan blue book as a baseline, along with my textbooks for reference and practice problems. I am hoping to get a website up to post my notes, mind-maps, some practice problems, etc.

Each day, I will report back with what I went over and any other information I feel is important for this preparation.

I will be scheduling my testing date some time around mid August.

Pull up a seat with some popcorn and sodas, because the show is about to begin. 🙂

Ok... sorry for the delay, but I'm back.

I just started this week...

So far, I have covered:

Organic Chemistry-- Alkanes, Alkenes, Alkynes, Chirality, isomerism, some physical properties of the aformentioned groups, and some rote memorization of the functional groups since I seem to have forgotten a few... (what's a ketone again? ester? 😳 )

General Chemistry-- Connectivity, molecular formulas, and the quantum numbers, along with hybrid orbital theory which really helps understand Organic chemistry more!

Biology -- This is where I felt solid, but have lately come to the realization that..... well, that I am less than solid. So I have covered so far...

Kingdoms, the hierarchal organization, exergonic, endergonic reactions, Eukaryotic organelles and transport, and mitosis and meiosis. I've also briefly looked at Tissue and cell types of animals and plants and the differences between the two. that about sums it up. I am now diving into more General chemistry, and I will try to post the things that I had completely forgotten.

I'll try to stay on this more  🙂 😳 🙁

I still have 5 weeks before the test...
