I assume you are talking about ortho. From my perspective it is fine. There will be times when your SO gets tired of being alone, but remember that the 80 hr week has changed this. Just try to get your schedudle to your SO ahead of time so they can look forward to your days off. Every year gets better. Intern year is generally pretty easy, 2nd year sucks. 3 and 4 are nice.
