Hey All (Especially MD2Be06 and Dank),

So, today I checked my mailbox and found a thin envelope inviting me to join UMiami's Class of 2006!!!! I'm so excited...and of course I've cried a couple times. I just wanted to thank everyone on SDN for keeping my spirits up and giving me the best advice possible on the 'net. Good luck to everyone!

Miami Marmot CONGRATULATIONS!!! That's awesome. Unfortunately, I received a thin letter of a different kind. It wasn't the quick death of a rejection letter, but rather the long drawn trial before the execution of a deferral letter. That f***ing sucks!! So I guess the wait begins. Hopefully we will be classmates next year. Does anyone know if there are ways to get off the Miami defferal list and onto the Miami accepted list? Anyone helpful suggestions would be appreciated; apart from the one of finding Bin Laden and using some of the $25 million to donate my way in. All the flights to Tora Bora are booked right now!

Don't be nervous! It's a really easy going interview day. Is this your first interview? My only recommendation would apply to any med school interview: know yourself really well, so you'll know what to say to questions like "what are your strengths and weaknesses" and "tell me about yourself." Just be friendly and polite at all times, look enthusiastic, and you're all set. Seriously, UM is not a school that grills applicants with mean questions. They just want to see if you're a nice normal person. Hope that helps.
