I will reiterate: CSDCAS just plain sucks.
1. There is one woman who answers the phone over there. She hardly keeps office hours and sometimes does not return phone calls. She is not friendly (she's in Massachusetts...this is to be expected...I am from MA so I can say this) and rushes you off the telephone as fast as possible.
2. The application system is not user friendly. The system has flaws which results in skewed GPA and other such calculations. This shows especially when you've taken classes at multiple colleges and may have had certain class overlaps.
3. The application isn't really that much cheaper than if you would have applied elsewhere. The biggest boon is that you only need send one copy of transcripts and GRE scores.
4. The reason it isn't that much cheaper is the fact that not many universities are on board with the system yet. This is probably because universities know the CSDCAS system sucks, but this is just conjecture.
5. Even though CSDCAS has provisions for "school decisions", you will not see the decision posted on the CSDCAS system. When I asked the CSDCAS woman why, she said "We don't get involved with applications at all after they are mailed out from this office". Nice.
6. CSDCAS tries to mail all applications out at once, usually right at the deadline. This is poor, as it allows no time to contact universities and build a rapport with them as you get your materials together.
In sum, I hate CSDCAS.
I do not recommend using their service. Future applicants: use a traditional direct application method unless told otherwise....one college, for instance, University of South Alabama, forced me to apply through the service. I complained about all the above listed things to USA after I did apply through their service; hopefully they will change their policy in the future.
